If you're looking to climb one of the most legendary peaks in the Bernese alps, this is your programme. Work your way along, and maybe sit astride, the legendary Mitellegui ridge which separates the Eiger's majestic north face from the south face. The Eiger was the last great challenge in conquering the alpine north faces and you will see why. You'll have breathtaking views over the Konkordia Glacier and will take a ride on the highest train in Europe. PROGRAMME
Day 1: Grindelwald - Klein Scheidegg Eismeer - climb up to the Mitellegui hut (3355m).
Day 2: Mitellegui hut - climb the Mitellegui Ridge (D, 650m) to the Eiger summit (3907m). If the day becomes too long there's the possibility of spending a night in the Mönch hut.
