With the Matterhorn overlooking our every move, we'll be moving on the border between Switzerland and Italy.  After five days traversing one of the most important massifs in the Alps, we'll finish on Monte Rosa's Dufour Peak (4634m).  On the way there, we'll have climbed 9 emblematic summits each over 4000m.  Castor, Pollux and Liskamm are just some of the peaks whose airy aretes and glaciers we'll be exploring.

Classic Route (5 days)

Day 1:  Ascent of  the Breithorn, the first 4000m peak in the traverse, from which, depending on the skill level of the rope team, we'll either continue along the ridge or drop down to R. de Ayas (5-7 hours).

Day 2:  Pollux and Castor finishing in R. Quintino Sella (5-7 hours).

Day 3:  Col de Nas - Corno Nero (4322m), Vicent Piramid (4215m) - R. Gnifetti (5 hours).

Day 4:  Parrotspitze Peak - R. Margherita: spending the night in the highest hut in the Alps.

Day 5:  Acsent of Zumsteinpitze (4563m) and its continuation following the Southeast Ridge to Dufour Peak (4634m).  Then descending the normal route to reach the Rotenbode cog railway.
