My First 4000m Peaks in the Alps

Saas Fee is the valley parallel to that of Zermatt and offers a world of opportunities to climb 4000m peaks. Millions of combinations can be made depending on the participants' level. We've selected this 'menu' for its convenience and because it's accessible to all, as it can be done from the village of Saas Fee itself, without requiring a vehicle. Three varied 4000m peaks, starting with the easiest and finishing with one of the most beautiful classic traverses in the Alps. The views of Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn will blow you away and make discovering this valley more than worthwhile. The perfect way to get a taste of classic alpine mountaineering and practise among other skills, glacier travel and travel on rocky ridges, while gaining experience at altitude.

PROGRAMME

Day 1: Ascent of the Allalinhorn (4027m) from Mittelallalin (3500m). A good glacial peak to acclimatise on, allowing us to assess the participants' levels and fine tune the technical skills required for the following days. We'll take the Metro Alpin from Saas Fee.

Day 2: Jägihorn Via Ferrata. The perfect place to get the hang of scrambling and basic rock skills. This is one of the best via ferratas in Switzerland.

Day 3: Ascent of the Weissmies (4023m) from Hooshas.

Day 4: Climb the southwest ridge of Lagginhorn (4010m) and descend to the Kreuzboden middle station. Take the cable car down to the valley

Private guiding 1600 euros.

Prices include:

- Liability insurance

- Accident insurance

- Gear for the rope team

- Although we recommend you use your own personal gear, we can lend you harness, helmet, ice axe, or crampons if necessary.

Not included in the price:

The journey to Saas Fee (for example flight to Geneva and train to the valley. Saas Fee has a good public transport network to get around the valley), cable cars, valley accomodation, huts, hill food and so on. The guide's expenses, such as cable cars, internal transfers, huts, will be covered by the participants. Calculate around 600 euros per person for all this.
